Prada Fall 2008 - Prada $390 (left) and Forever 21 $7.80 (right)

Waahh - I could die.  Yes, that’s a cry!  There was a spread in W mag way back when - I’m thinking Fall 05 - that was a pictorial in a forest with the model wearing a lot of Moschino Cheap & Chic, along with teddy bear necklaces and crowns.  These were full on mini bears, stuffed and cuddly, strung together with satin that looked so whimsical.  Since this isn’t the most practical thing in the world, I plan on taking inspiration from the above.

The Erickson Beamon for Target collection hit stores today - and unfortunately online they’re showing all of the pieces, before they even arrive - so I’m going to have to wait 2 to 4 weeks for this baby!

It is very possible that this may outdo Subversive. Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon are the fourth jewelry design team to collaborate on a mass line for Target. The whimsical yet edgy, and always eclectic design elements present in the original aesthetic are very apparent and not watered down in this collection. What I love about Erickson Beamon is the high-low mix, even though it’s not really high-low at all, it’s not too refined or stuffy - it’s an antique look with a modern toughness. My favorite is the gold chain bracelet with the different size gems, and a close second the star broach cuff the label made so popular. The great thing about the jewelry lines for Target, rather than the apparel, is that they stick around for much longer - this one until June.  Dean Harris, the last Target jewelry designer to go diffusion, has been on the site forever and I’m so happy to see it go away for something much more my taste. The colored gems are perfect for the impending arrival of Spring, and starting at $14.99 - everyone can have a little piece of luxury.

I would looooove if this was ever a possibility for a Valentine’s gift - good god! However, the $17,500 price tag on these VBH black diamond and ruby encrusted rings may be a little too much for the boyfriend in grad school.

The duster earring is all that’s in my head after watching Factory Girl.  Yes - I take years to watch fantastic movies that I should really run to the theatres for - it’s called procrastination, and I do it well.  Although these may tear your ear off, beauty is pain - and if I had the chance to wear 5 carats worth of diamonds, I may sacrifice an ear as well.

Poor, Poor Paris. The guilty gang is actually called the Pink Panthers - which alone is a huge reason to keep reading. There’s something very Sherlock Holmes about this article, like an old school jewelry heist you would see in the movies. Definitely glamorous, also ridiculous. How do people rob stores or banks anymore? It seems so wild, wild west - when I had my baby fender bender and had to interact with the police, one of them said they had just come from a bank robbery - and out loud, I blurted “Really? People still rob banks?” Oh, Texas.

Great word, timepiece - obviously I’m slowly becoming obsessed with knowing the time in a chic & heavily embellished way. For a watch - this is not so out of reach ($295) - very refreshing! Design duo Badgley Mischka were in a bad biz place for some time - I worked in the same building as BM, and would often see them in the elevator (forreal). I could never remember which one was which - and thought for a split second that I should study Style.com as I was always running into them & the puppy - but then my non fashion hemisphere got the best of me.

Lucky for bankruptcy’s sake - they must have hired a new jewelry designer because their collections are now not only all over editorial - but well deserved all over editorial (which is really saying a lot). The baubles are regal, statement pieces - and rival that of Balenciaga circa Fall 09. Oh, and it’s so friggin’ cute how the face opens & closes! It’s too bad I can’t awkwardly freeze up in the elevator next to them anymore, I’d love to gush - those all too often painful moments at 550 7th ave will be missed!
