Jenni Kayne Fall 08 RTW. Nowhere to be found just yet, it was hell trying to get this picture! I’m feeling a hot pink movement coming on…so L.A.!

@ Elle.com

Unfortunately - ALL out of my price range. But, it’s inspiration and if I see anything like it you better believe I will charge it and post it. A rarity for a struggling student - I actually got to drool over Erickson Beamon at Showroom 7 (PR rep) in New York, during a Styling class tour (yes, be jealous those were my classes).

I love deconstructed jewelry, and I love that art deco/60’s feel even more (who knew that combo was possible?). There is little that gets me more excited in life than costume jewelry - a great find at an antique store is definitely my drug of choice. That something that Erickson Beamon, Subversive, and even Alexis Bittar have - is an unexpected, whimsical, edgy - but still feminine & romantic aesthetic. Subversive already did a line for Target, perhaps Erickson Beamon is next? (Please, please, please!)

If so inclined - Shop Erickson Beamon @ Net-A-Porter.com

I NEED these. Top Shop is sold out of the only pair that isn’t equivalent to $300, help!

Here in Austin, it’s currently 91 degrees. My entire wardrobe has been turned upside down while acclimating - I’m still wearing gladiators and carrying around floral bags, and will probably do so until December (gasp). Last fall in New York I was stressing about having to be the first person to wear a chunky knit and colored tights in the office…in August.

So, I’m sure anyone (dreaming of fall) who opened the new Anthropologie catalog got chills looking at the chunky textures, asymmetry, and whimsical appliques - with that contrived-yet-adorable assortment they never fail to deliver. Who says direct is dead?

For retail, the bad news is that the economy should have taken a lesson from Tommy Hilfiger - you can’t hand out loans like candy, nor can you merchandise to yuppies & rappers at the same time. The good news is that the only thing selling in apparel right now is novelty - so Anthro has 23 pages solely devoted to sweaters with enough detail to last you through the recession.

Enjoy! Visit Anthropologie.com.
