Cavalli rarely creates too much outside of the barely there box - he’s great when it comes to dressing starlets in sultry dresses for the red carpet (the JLo’s & Beyonce’s), but wearable pieces aren’t really his cup of tea. So, although this new statement isn’t the best definition of wearable, it’s moving in that direction. These pieces are definitely more editorial, so there will be more visibility and therefore expect to see trends trickle down from it, but I am loving how it’s this sort of urban influence mixed with vodka pipe dreams on the coast of Italy.

Balmain $4,960 (ouch!) @ Net-A-Porter.com

Bijoux Heart $1,955 (ah!) at Net-A-Porter

Unfortunately - ALL out of my price range. But, it’s inspiration and if I see anything like it you better believe I will charge it and post it. A rarity for a struggling student - I actually got to drool over Erickson Beamon at Showroom 7 (PR rep) in New York, during a Styling class tour (yes, be jealous those were my classes).
I love deconstructed jewelry, and I love that art deco/60’s feel even more (who knew that combo was possible?). There is little that gets me more excited in life than costume jewelry - a great find at an antique store is definitely my drug of choice. That something that Erickson Beamon, Subversive, and even Alexis Bittar have - is an unexpected, whimsical, edgy - but still feminine & romantic aesthetic. Subversive already did a line for Target, perhaps Erickson Beamon is next? (Please, please, please!)
